Digital free speech and liberty, if we can keep it.

Disclaimer: Some have said to me that Elon wants to take down the deep state so he can become the deep state, but you can’t do that by freeing the people’s minds and allowing them to see how powerful their voice can become. Once you open Pandora’s box, you can’t go back, so I can’t believe what they say about Elon at this moment.

Listen, my friends, I’m Nick Spanos, a Greek-American from New York, with roots deep in the soil of innovation and liberty. I’ve spent years in the freedom movement, opening the first live cryptocurrency trading floor just a stone’s throw from the NYSE, pioneering blockchain technologies, and advising those like Ron and Rand Paul, who’ve carried the torch of freedom through the corridors of power. Now, let’s dive into a story that echoes the cries of ancient Greece, where democracy was born, and intertwine this with Bitcoin, the people’s declaration of monetary independence that I coined back in 2013.

In Brussels, the EU is quaking before the might of Elon Musk. They fear the winds of change, the elections that could shake their foundations, and the power of X, a platform where voices aren’t just heard but resonate with the force of Pericles’ oration, “Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you.”

Thierry Breton, with his threats, is like the Persians at the gates, trying to subdue the voice of freedom. He’s not just targeting X; he’s personally going after Elon, warning him of legal repercussions if he doesn’t bend to the EU’s will. It’s a direct challenge, a modern-day Xerxes demanding submission, but Elon stands firm, a modern-day Themistocles, guiding the fleet through the storm of censorship. He’s not just defending; he’s empowering, just as Heraclitus once said, “The only constant in life is change.”

Věra Jourová speaks of history, but she forgets that freedom isn’t a relic; it’s a flame that must be kept alive, as Socrates argued, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” She’s also put Elon in her sights, criticizing him for not aligning with European values on free speech, essentially threatening him with the weight of EU bureaucracy. Elon isn’t about preserving the past; he’s about envisioning a future where the shackles of old are broken by the power of new tech, including the liberating potential of Bitcoin.

In Germany, with Damian Boeselager’s accusations, we see a modern twist on the Athenian agora, where every voice mattered. Boeselager has questioned Elon’s integrity, suggesting he’s manipulating elections, and personally attacking his character and motives, but isn’t Elon doing the same, ensuring that the digital agora isn’t silenced by those who fear the truth? Here, free speech ties into Bitcoin, allowing individuals to pay for a political voice through donations, maintaining the sanctity of a secret ballot. Controlling donation reporting is akin to controlling votes because donations are monetary votes that should remain secret.

Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz might want to dictate the symphony of Europe, but Elon is composing a new melody, one where every note, every voice, is free to resonate. They’ve indirectly threatened Elon by questioning the impact of his platform on their political landscape, suggesting he could face international repercussions. He’s embodying the spirit of Plato’s ideal: “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.”

When Elon engages with Alice Weidel, it’s not just a conversation; it’s a testament to the democratic principle Isocrates championed, “Democracy destroys itself because it abuses its right to freedom and equality because it teaches its citizens to consider themselves as equals with better men.” Yet, this engagement has turned into personal warnings from EU officials, implying that Elon’s actions could lead to severe penalties or even bans within the EU.

“Freedom or Death,” as the ancient Greeks declared. Patrick Henry echoed this sentiment with “Give me liberty or give me death.” Today, I say, “Give me digital free speech or give me death.” Many people are afraid that Elon might be with the deep state, but I’m taking a chance on Elon. He’s the richest person on the planet, and he could be doing anything else. We saw his rocket land back on a landing platform and be grabbed by a big robotic arm, but that’s child’s play compared to giving the power back to the people from the old guard. We need to support him and his battle against these people who stifle free speech. We also need to decentralize platforms like Twitter or X, ensuring that no single entity holds the keys to our digital voices, and leverage Bitcoin to secure our financial and political autonomy.

Feel that surge of empowerment, see the vision of a future where your voice, your vote, shakes the very foundations of control. Hear the ancient call of freedom echoing through the ages, urging us to join this revolution. In this narrative, we’re not passive spectators; we’re active creators of a world where our speech is unfettered, where our future is not dictated but freely chosen.

Let’s embrace this moment, where technology and liberty intertwine, and together, we reclaim our democratic heritage, pushing back against the unelected overseers, just as our ancestors did against kings and despots. Join Elon in this new dawn of freedom, where we’re not just participants but the very authors of our destiny. Remember, as Benjamin Franklin so famously responded when asked what kind of government we had formed, “A republic if you can keep it.” Today, we stand at another crossroads with a similar opportunity — a digital republic of free speech and liberty, if we can keep it.
